EFFICACY OF PROPHETIC MEDICINE
TESTIMONY

Episode II of LIFE in PRISON!
There was an attack of migraine during my 100 level days in the university. Little did I realise the seriousness of the disease until I started spitting blood! I was scared and the next reasonable step was to leave for a good hospital like UCH in Ibadan. But my wife suggested otherwise by introducing Tibbu Nabawi-Prophetic Medicine (PM) to me. She suggested we call a brother who has a Prophetic Medicine Clinic.
A sum of Three Thousand Naira saved a SOUL as the migraine mysteriously disappeared on the third day of medication without trace!
There was a diagnosis of diabetes which degenerated into insomnia. After two weeks as a hospital patient, my ever-caring mother became sleepless for over a month. This made our family flounder in a state of panic.
This time, the next reasonable step was to seek spiritual intervention through an ustaadh who eventually advised we contact our usual PMP-Prophetic Medicine Practitioner. A token fetched us a PM drug which saved a SOUL. Funnily uncontrollably, there was a head-butt owing to the overwhelming sleep engendered by the wonder drug!
There was an accident and there was tetanus. The fear of tetanus is the beginning of wisdom for whoever knows its danger. This I never realized until my brother spent a week in a hospital. It never occurred to me that a patient could take as much medicine as my brother did within a given period of time. His immutable status informed my idea of contacting two other medics (one principal medical officer and the other-a resident doctor) but to no avail. Something scared me most-the increasing rate of the SPASM which one of the doctors said is the most dangerous part of tetanus for once it happens on the respiratory pathway; the patient is gone. I was so sad thinking I have lost my immediate younger brother because at that time he could not even talk again. At this juncture, the doctor told me he had tried his best that if I surf the net on TETANUS
I would see that one out of every five tetanus patients survives it. Hence I prepared my mind for the worst…. The prophet’s hadith, that Allah has not created a disease without a cure, renewed my hope. I informed my PM Practitioner about the situation but he recommended that my brother remain in the hospital for antibiotics. He told me to come with two thousand naira only and immediately I got there he asked one of his staff members to mix honey with black seed and few other ingredients and give to me.
Few days later, my brother was out of hospital, hale and hearty. Allahu Akbar! The doctor was happy that his effort eventually yielded results. About a week later, there was another case of tetanus at the hospital but the patient could not survive it. Then, I considered it reasonable to keep the doctor abreast of our clandestine step! When informed, the doctor said, ‘There are certain cases where we need such people; you will take me to him in order to facilitate a relationship with him’. Allahu Akbar!
TYPES of PROPHETIC MEDICINE (PM)
Prophetic Medicine refers to words and actions of the Prophet with a bearing on disease, treatment of disease, and care of patients… (Prof. Dr O. H. Kasule Sr).
PM can be divided into Preventive and Curative Prophetic Medicine. Preventive PM includes prophetic supplications on specific matters, general du’a-prayer, and other measures such as food proportion and exercise, quarantine for epidemics, non-permissibility of stagnant water urination and regular use of tooth stick for oral medicine and so on.
On the other hand, Curative PM can be spiritual in the case of exorcism and general RUQYAH-special prayer or physical by treating ailments with honey, black seed, black seed oil, olive oil and ginger et cetera.
DISEASES TREATED with PROPHETIC MEDICINE a Millennium Ago!
Ibn Qayyim al Jawziyah (691-753 AH), in his book titled: Tibbu Nabawiy-Prophetic Medicine, listed the following diseases and conditions in addition to spiritual attacks such as witchcraft and the evil eye as treatable with PM: headache, toothache, cough, fever, sprain, wounds, epilepsy, catalepsy, dropsy, bowel movements, sciatica, temperaments, pimples, skin itch, skin eruptions, pleurisy, migraine, throat inflammation, heart enlargement, ophthalmia, food poisoning, head lice, leprosy, eye diseases, throat and tonsils, diarrhea, abdominal disease, fracture, fly-induced food contamination, nose bleeds, and snake, scorpion and rabid dog bites.
EMPIRICAL RESEARCH in SUPPORT of PM: a Case Study of BLACK SEED!
Researchers have discovered numerous functions of the black seed some of which will be listed shortly.
But if you want to familiarize yourself more with the topic, see Akhtar et al (1991) for the effect of the black seed on nematode worm infection in children; Haq et al (1995) for the effect of the black seed on human lymphocytes and polymorphonuclear leucocyte phagocytic activity, and Houghton et al (1995) for the effect of black seed on rheumatism and related inflammatory diseases.
However, just like every other medicine, black seed is not without its side effect as Steinmann et al (1997) recorded the occurrence of contact dermatitis after its topical use.

The black seed, nigella sativa, probably for its rich nutritional values, at least 35 of them as confirmed by modern science, serves the following purposes: Anti-Bacterial, Anti-Inflammatory, Anti-Ulcer, Anti-Cholinergic, Anti-Fungal, Anti-Hypertensive, Antioxidant, Antispasmodic, Antiviral, Bronchodilator, Gluconeogenesis Inhibitor (Anti-Diabetic), Hepatoprotective (Liver Protecting), Hypotensive, Insulin Sensitizing, Interferon Inducer, Leukotriene Antagonist, Renoprotective (Kidney Protecting), Tumor Necrosis Factor Alpha Inhibitor. Moreover, black seed has been researched for very specific health conditions and found reliable for:
